Re: (meteorobs) Great fireballs!

Asaf, just to clarify: on 16/17 Nov 1998, I witnessed two mag -8 fireballs, one
mag -12 fireball, as well as a significant number (in the tens) of "lesser"
fireballs -6 or fainter. But this was very probably a **once in a lifetime**
event for me! After all, before that one incredible night, the brightest
fireball I had ever recorded and reported was a -7 Leonid back on 17/18 Nov
1996... Obviously, fireballs ARE really very rare...

[As a side note, that 1996 fireball was the very same one for which I recently
mentioned logging a simultaneous sound. However, and I find this significant, I
did not log ANY simultaenous sounds during that incredible "fireball shower" on
16/17 Nov last year, which Norm McLeod and I observed together...]

Clear skies and fireball storms to all!
Lew
