In general, that's correct George. The primary effect of stream width is in
how long it takes us to traverse it (this is also dependant on the angle of
intersection). However, it would seem to me that a wide stream would have
some effect on radiant size since the particles must be on different orbits
(hence not perfectly parallel) in order for the stream to be wider. I guess
another factor would be how much of the geocentric velovity is caused by
the earth's motion and how much is from the comet/meteor stream's.

So a showers radiant diameter isn't dependent upon how wide the stream
itself
is, but rather how many different orbits are present within that stream?
