(meteorobs) Pre-Dawn Rates July 19/20

After eight days of rain and overcast skies, the clouds fled from
approaching high pressure Tuesday morning allowing me a good 2+ hrs of
teff just before dawn. Rates were definitely higher than the last time I

observed, well over a week ago. In fact, I saw 11 meteors in the 25
minutes between 07:04 and 07.29 UT.
At 08:45 UT I punctuated the silence of the piney woods with a loud

"Whoop!" as twin Perseids appeared simultaneously (less than .5 seconds
apart - Zip! Zip!) barely 10 degrees apart from each other, with long
trains. While they were not that bright (I gave them both +3's) the
sight of the two of them zooming along, one racing beside and behind the

other, was truly impressive!
As a new observer, with so many radiants active at once, I had
prepared myself to observe for CAP's, PAU's, and of course, PER's. I
overlooked the SDA's, but will atone for this on my next session. I did

not identify any PAU's but a prime CAP candidate appeared at 7:17 UT. I

have listed this meteor as is, rather than SPO....I wonder if that's
okay for the meteor count method?
