MetRec computes the meteor brightness. It uses the brightness of a
number of reference stars for calibration. However, single video frames
are relatively noise, and image intensifiers are very sensitive in the red
and IR part of the spectrum. This is why I think that the absolute
accuracy is only in the order of 1 mag. This become even worse if the
meteor is very bright or very faint.
