Fireball Detection
On 7 July 1999, sensors aboard DOD satellites detected the impact of a
meteoroid at 04:14:42.031 UTC over the North Island of New Zealand. The
object was
detected at 39.45 degrees South Latitude, 174.39 degrees East Longitude and
appears to have detonated at an altitude of 28.8 km.
