(meteorobs) Re:bolide
hello all:
Bolide: A fireball accompanied by 1 or more audiable explosions often
associated with meteorite falls. The initial explosion is the
sonic boom of the leading mass. Smaller detonations follow if
there are several major fragments. Many shock waves may be set up
if considerable fragmentation occurs causing a rumbling noise
which follows the first major fragmentation.
