Did anyone actually think that astronomy could oppose the
great Baal of jobs? Short of a sugar daddy-like the Mellon family
who were able to block the Disney theme park which would have
wreaked their rural tranquillity- the only opposition to prisons
by the public would be fear of being raped,murdered or held hostage
by escapees.
