Joe, our list is actually "filtered": this means that only current subscribers
to the list - plus a well-defined few others I designate as "guests" - can post
messages to 'meteorobs'... However, this objectionable "business" opportunity
actually defrauded our email host into thinking that it was posted by me! It did
this by changing the "sender" of the email to 'owner-meteorobs@jovian.com'.
Apologies to those who might have been offended by this nasty "spam" post: If
there were any way to prevent such "spoofing spam", without also blocking the
occasional legitimate post that I have to make from the 'owner-meteorobs'
account, I would use it. However, such fraud is very hard to detect.
BTW, if anyone happened to save the FULL EMAIL HEADER from this bogus post,
please forward that to me: such fields as 'Return-path:', 'Received:' and
'Message-id:' may actually point to the user perpetrating this fraud - and
there is nothing I love better than shutting down objectionable spammers!
