I was able to get in three hours of observing last
night. Skies were quite dark (for my site) and rates were rather
low. I observed for ORI, STA, NTA, GIA and OAR. No definate
GIA's, OAR's, or NTA's were seen. One Orionid was seen just
a few degrees left of the radiant, a near-point meteor. Forty minutes
later, a second, trained Orionid zipped out about 50 degrees east of the
radiant.
The weather looks promising for the peak of
the October Arietids tonight, but not so well for the Draconids tomorrow.
