(meteorobs) Observation Oct 9/10 1999
Hello everyone,
Here is my report for Oct. 9-10. We had relatively clear skies at the
dark Foymount site. However, although a thin haze or thin clouds
reduced the transparency over the south, I still managed to get an
average magnitude of 6.3. I spent the first 2 hours concentrating
mainly for any possible Draconids by facing north-west. It looked
like it was going to be a slow night, as it took me 36 minutes to see
my first meteor. Then, only a handful of sporadics and one Delta
Aurigid were seen. After 2 hours of meteor observing, I took a break
to help out with a star party event in progress. At 6:05, I signed on
again for one more period. This time I faced south-east to try and
see some of the minor showers in that direction. I did plot weak
activity from the Orionids and Delta Aurigids. No meteor seen got any
brighter than magn.+2. Nothing was seen from the ecliptical activity
(Oct. Arietids or Taurids) and the Draconids.
Full reports and plots to be sent at NAMN.
