Re: (meteorobs) Confusion with Meteor observing forms

Hi Louis,

One reason there are more than one form is that they were designed for
different formats - paper and electronic. Also, some groups have forms for
beginner vs. experienced observers. Within NAMN, there is our main form,
which records data in the format utilized by the IMO. You often see it on
this mailing list, and is being used by other meteor groups as well. Our
other forms are for fireballs, photographic observations, etc.

Of course everybody could use one form, designed in MS Word for example, and
use it as a hardcopy and also pass that around via email. But not everyone
has Word, and I have found ascii text easier to handle when archiving
reports.

Hope this helped....

Mark

Confusion with Meteor observing forms.
It sure would be nice and less confusing if the 3 different Meteor
Observing
Orgs. used the same form. Whats wrong with that idea???
