(meteorobs) Further Oct 18/19 Meteor Observations From California

Greetings fellow observers, boy it's been awhile... but last night I
finally got to do some observing...and I got to do so perhaps one of the
most knowlegable and seasoned visual meteor observers the United States,
Bob Lunfsford.. We had great fun and, for a non-peak night of the
Orionids, activity seemed higher that past years... In 3.8hrs Teff I
counted 81 meteors..
I did miss the one -1 Bob mentioned, oh well I WAS to busying looking at
the Milky Way and all the stars. Jupiter and Saturn were so prominant,
and the setting moon, with its reddish colour was a beautiful sight...
... I did not see any meteors of negative magnitude. Sorry I do not
have the time to key in mag dist table... Below is a count table
summarizing my session with Bob L.. This was my only chance to go out
and stay up all night and oberserve (I have a new job and it is keeping
me very busy... My next chance will of course be the Leonids! Formal
report to to forwarded to IMO and NAMN.

For those of you unfamilar, Bob and I observe from the local San
Diego mountains (~80km due East of San Diego, CA city prpoer... the temp
was cool 54deg F, as Bob mentioned, Santa Ana was blowing, tho not as
much as the previous nigh.. and MOST important, the night sky was
perfectly clear with my Lms ranging form 6.2-6.4.. I was getting pretty
tired during the last interval and I think the data clearly reflect
that.. for Bob, activity was good all night long..
That is all for now.. Here is my count breakdown along with other
stuff....
