Re: (meteorobs) South GA Orionids

the ORI or STA numbers you mentioned for that hour?

Absolutely, Lew, wouldn't be suprised at all! (Teff for that period should have been 1.0, not 1.26...oops!)

Other possiblities have occured to me, however...
  (A)  I was in "Orion" mode during that period.  Orionids on the brain at 4:00AM.  The sporadics didn't stand a chance!
  (B) I have a secret, unconscious bias against sporadics that surfaces during bursts of wakeful REM at 4:00AM.
  (C) Art Bell is sending out subliminal messages and I'm beginning to be affected.

Actually, maybe a few of those discounted peripheral flashes I experienced were my missing SPO's?  I did encounter a few ORI's that seemed slow, but they were always quite close to the radiant with short path lengths.  As for sporadic pollution, I just have to trust my handy 3ft knotted cord and quote this guy who once said Call 'em as you see 'em."  Hmm, now who was that?

Only ONE Sporadic in 1.26 hours?? That is amazing, Kim! Could it

the ORI or STA numbers you mentioned for that hour?

Clear skies, and keep 'em coming: You are bound for being one of
the top observers in the world this year!! :)
