One argument for the Eastern fireball that made the news being a dying
satellite or booster is that it moved west to east which is the
direction in which almost all injections have been made over the last
forty years.  However no one that I heard mentioned colors which are
displayed by man made objects due to the variety of metals involved
particularly since this object may have been breaking up from some
descriptions.
