Well, only today I caught up with my email, and realized that an intended
summary of my visual Leonid campaign this year had somehow gotten garbled!
Below is all the summary data for my five visual observing sessions last week:
the fourth session, I ran from the Keys to the Florida Everglades in search of
clear skies, and found them! My deepest thanks to Norm MacLeod and Wayne Hally
for their help calling the weather down there; to Pete Wlasuk for his invitation
to his favorite observing site in the unique, beautiful Fakahatchee Strand; and
especially to Dr. Peter Brown and Pete Gural for inviting me to participate as a
reporting visual observer in this year's NASA/USAF/UWO Leonid Campaign.
BTW, the most interesting part of these observations, the incredible (for me)
burst of activity from the LEOs during the final hour before dawn on 17/18 Nov,
will be reported most effectively by forwarding a full IMO report for all 303
meteors from that session to the 'meteorobs' list (and Peter). Soon to follow!
PS: And as for the ibises, herons, egrets, ospreys, opposums, racoons, snakes,
feral and Great cats, mosquitoes, South American click beetles, blue tang, blow
fish, barracuda, Old Conchs, Miamians and other wondrous creatures I encountered
on my journeys, yet another tale must wait to be told. God keep wild Florida...
Clear skies all,
Lew Gramer (GRALE)

CFV - Coordinates at center of visual field of view.
Teff - Effective observing time minus breaks and meteor recording "dead time".
(5 seconds were deducted for each Leonid ONLY, due to NASA requirements.)
LM - Average Limiting Magniutude, using 2-6 IMO Star Count areas per period.
F - Obstruction correction factor: 1.00 indicates no obstructions.
LEO - Counts and average magnitudes for Leonids seen.
AMO - "" for Alpha Monocerotids seen.
NTA - "" for North Taurids seen.
STA - "" for South Taurids seen.
Tau - Meteors which aligned equally well with both North and South Taurids.
Spor - Meteors not associated with any IMO Working List shower.
