Tim, I liked your Subject line very much. :) The body of the email was less
palatable, though, I'm afraid...

Had you read those "arrogant and gullible" experts a little more closely, you
would have realized that the outburst was in fact predicted to occur around 2am
(or a bit earlier or a bit later), UNIVERSAL TIME, on 17/18 Nov. That would
correspond to 8pm (plus or minus) Central Standard Time - at which time the
Leonid radiant was NOT above your horizon, and therefore you could see nothing!
In actual fact, a VERY striking peak did occur almost exactly at 2:00 UT.

Clear skies, and keep your eyes on those same predictions for 2000-2002! :)
