(meteorobs) Sunday Night Fireball (?) Over Southern Ontario

As a new subscriber to the list I'm looking forward to
learning lots about what's quickly becoming my
favourite hobby, and I thought I would pass on the
following in the hope that perhaps someone may provide
some insight.

Last Sunday evening (Nov. 28) at circa 1:50 U.T. (8:50
est) my girlfriend observed what she described as " a
large bright ball of distinctly blue light" with an
extensive "glowing tail" behind it, pass overhead and
disappear behind a group of pine trees in our back
yard. She described the direction of flight as
north-east to south-west and the size of the "head" of
the object as comparable to that of a full moon(!?).
She mentioned that the "trail" the object left behind,
continued to glow for several seconds after the object
disappeared from view. We reside near London Ontario
Canada (43 N 81 W) .

Needless to say I was VERY jealous of her experience,
and we tuned into our late local news program to see
if anyone else had observed it. In fact, they did
report that several others had witnessed it as well.

Can anyone else comment on this interesting event?
