(meteorobs) Re: meteor colors and zulu time

Just two items:

Zulu time is so named from the phonetic alphabet used by the military,
aviators, and others.
(A = alpha, B = bravo, C = charlie..........and Z = zulu)
This was done so that certain similarly sounding letters would not be
mistaken for each other over radio transmissions, like B, C, D, E, etc)

UTC is thus designated as zulu time in weather reports etc. Example 0800Z
for 0800 UTC

Next:

About the strange color shift on the Leonid exposures. I'm wondering if it
might not be the result of the radiant becoming higher in the sky and
incoming meteors entering more directly above the observer as time went on
(much like sunrise looks "redder" than midday when the sun is overhead).
Perhaps the light emitted by their flares later on was traveling through
less atmosphere and gave a "truer" color. Just me speculating.
