Felix, Lew, and Chuck McRae were all present that night in 1979 at Burns
Lake. Located midway between Miami and Fort Myers so the sky is superb
there, nothing but Everglades all around. Chuck had double my meteor
perception -- in the big hour I recall he saw 190 unclassed meteors. Seems
like yesterday to me -- hard to believe 20 years have sped by. Chuck has
been a chicken farmer in Bell, Florida for more than a decade ; he moved to
a remote area and has dark skies all the time.

You're in reasonably good shape with a better-than-6.0 sky from your own
yard. Will be interesting to see how your Geminid rates compare with the
darker past years.

My table of colors from 1979 is now reposted with dots to align the columns.
Jim Richardson, skip the rest of this post. Tabulating colors versus
magnitude reveals one's color perception. Giving an overall color
percentage is meaningless.
