The local press here has been buzzing with news on this incident. Apparently
several days ago, something fell out of the sky and crashed into the banks of a
small reservoir in nothern New South Wales. It appears that the object was
either a piece of space junk or a meteorite, and has drilled a path around 40cm
wide and several meters deep, into the sludge at the side of the reservoir.
Authorities are currently using heavy earth moving equipment to try to dig out
whatever it was. Some speculation is that it could be a meteorite weighing
several kilograms, although others are saying it could be a hoax, and the usual
fanatics are carrying on about aliens and abduction theories.
