(meteorobs) No Gemiinids Tonite dec 15/16
Hi folks:
A quick check of the sky around 12/15 11:00pm indicate there was a
possibility of cloud breaks( through holes in the sky i can see sparkling
stars!) . So I decided to take a cat-nap and set my alarm one hour later.
True enough, the clouds were almost gone, just hugging the unimportant
northern horizon while the setting moon was obscured by clouds low in the
west. ( I did video on dark side again earier but nothing interesting was
recorded)
Tonite LM improved over last night with LM approaching 5+( was 3.5
Dec14/15). I leaned against a wall and fixed my gaze at Gemini- Orion-
Procyon - Canis Major . I have my auto-illuminated wrist watch on and even
brought along my microcassette recorder with me. But after a straight one
solid hour with ZERO meteors ( not even sporadics) I decided to call quit.
I must be hitting the bottom of the ZHR curve. or what ? Did any one
seeing any activities after 12/15 UT16 onwards....( my two ' misinform '
no-astro colleague reported seeing none.. one claim he saw an UFO..)
