When making limiting magnitude estimates using the predefined areas, you
should count all the stars you see including the ones only visible with
averted vision. However, you should not concentrate on seeing those stars
unnaturally as what you are after is an average of your limiting magnitude
conditions.

In estimating the limiting magnitude by counting stars in the known star
squares and triangles,  do you count the   stars that you can only see
by averted vision?
