Congratulations to Josep and the Spanish observing team on seeing three
impressive displays in as many months...

Clear skies and many meteors,

Subject: [IMO-News] Splendid Quadrantids display

	Dear colleagues,

The past night a splendid Quadrantid display has been observed from =
Spain by members of the Spanish Photographic Meteor Network (SPMN). The =
shower was observed from five different stations in Valencia, Castello, =
Barcelona and Girona. At the maximum appeared several impressive =
fireballs of magnitude higher than -7. The preliminary ZHR derived from =
our observations using a population index value of 2.5 is around 150 =
met/hour in a display so rich as in 1987. The activity was high and rich =
in bright meteors in the predicted 03-05h UT interval.=20

We will send Additional observations in the next days. The =
participating people was: Juli Castellano-Roig, Angela del Castillo, =
Carles Pineda, Natatxa S=E1nchez, Rafael Ramirez, Albert Sanchez and =
Helena Valero. =20
