Joe, "meteoritics" is the study of meteorites - not meteors. I have most
frequently used "meteoricist" to describe anyone who is engaged in the
scientific study of meteors, which I've always heard called "meteorics".

And what would one call someone who is studying meteorOIDS (particles in
interplanetary space which are responsible for meteors, if they enter the
atmosphere)? I think the appropriate term is "planetary scientist with an
inferiority complex"... Or maybe more properly, "cometary garbologist".
