(meteorobs) Observations Jan 26/27-00

With the "meteor"ologists stating that we'd have really dry, clear air last night, I couldn't resist the urge to go out and observe.  While I had planned to observe for three
hours, the cold and boredom got to me, as only 2 meteors per hour surfaced.  But then, what could I expect between 9 and 11 PM local?  The skies were not that transparent, as I only obtained average magnitudes of 6.09.  In fact, a transparant haze moved cloud-like across the ecliptic during period 2, but I don't think I could have called it an obstruction.  Regardless, I called it quits after two hours.
