(meteorobs) Target flight AA14 for Hawaii fireball.
After some further research and refinement of the fireball location and
airline schedule, it seems the persons on board American Airlines flight
#14, from Kahului, Maui to Los Angeles, were "ring-side seat" to the
spectacular event! According to the airline, this flight was wheels up
at 10:31 pm. Based on the normal flight path out to the NE, that would
probably put it above the clouds and within a few km of the meteor
position at 10:32 or 10:33 pm, either directly in front of, or to the
right of the plane.
Any efforts to locate passengers or crew on this flight would
undoubtedly yield some incredible reports.
