(meteorobs) 02-09/10-00 Observations

A planned two-three hour session shrunk down to 1.18 hrs Teff when an onslaught of thin, hazy clouds began entering my FOV around 9:05 UT.  Nonetheless, I saw nine meteors in a single 46 minute stretch during the one and only period of the session this morning.  In addition, the rate of peripheral, discounted flashes was rather high, with four flashes occuring within a two-minute period.  For me, this usually signals higher overall rates -- thus I would venture a guess that rates for the night as a whole were probably on the strong side.  One +5 meteor with a nice apparent 15x path length was discounted;  I was turning my head when I spotted "it" -- it could have been a visual artifact.  Seven of nine meteors were plotted.  No potential Xi-Bootid candidates were seen.
