(meteorobs) Observations Feb 11/12
On Friday night, I went up to Haleakala to observe after moonset, since
its last free time and moon-free morning for a week or so. I did a
combination of Comet/nova/meteor, so only logged 1 hr Teff. The
conditions were not so good. The sky background seemed brighter than
usual, causing LM reduction to 6.4. Maybe due to VOG (volcano smog)?
Still saw 11 meteors, just a normal mix of SPO and 1 each DVE,XBO and
ACE. The brightest was a mag 0 SPO, but its trajectory was perfect for
XBO! Unfortunatly, its path was too long for the radiant distance
criteria.
(BTW - The new nova 1749-19 Sgr is at mag 12.6! )

SPO:..................1.........3....2.........2..... = 8
DEAD TIME: 5 min
Note: The mag 0 SPO trajectory lined perfectly with XBO, but
the path length was 20° and distance from radiant to begin
point also 20°, therefore too close to be XBO.
