                        LEONID MAC WORKSHOP 2000 

         International workshop to put Leonid storm studies in focus

              APRIL 16-19, 2000, at Tel Aviv University, Israel

       Deadline for registration and submission of abstracts: 

                                March 01


Tel Aviv University will host this year's Leonid MAC Workshop. Purpose
of the workshop is to discuss the recent Leonid observing campaigns
and discuss research topics that directly relate to the new studies
of meteors, meteor afterglow, meteor persistent trains, meteoroid cloud,
comet dust ejection, satellite impact hazard, origin of life, impacts
on the Moon, sprites and their relationship to meteors, upper atmosphere
dynamics and chemistry. In particular, the first results will be presented
from this year's Leonid storm observations onboard the Leonid Multi-
Instrument Aircraft Campaign and related ground-based efforts. 

The workshop is sponsored by NASA, the U.S. Air Force, the Israeli
Space Agency and Tel Aviv University. Contributions will be published
in a special issue of Earth, Moon and Planets.
