I know it seems counter-intuitive but there is a rotation effect for
trajectories of objects in flight.

In long-range, artillery gunnery, the rotation of the earth has to be included
in calculations for  shots running north or south.  

You are correct that the winds effect the trajectory as well. Winds aloft must
also be included in the correction computations as they effect objects in
flight. Were it not for the the earth's rotation and drag on the atmosphere we
would not have temperate latitude prevailing winds.

Does anyone have an procedure/equation for calculating a parabolic trajectory
where azimuth and velocity and at the end point is known? Solving for trajectory
and initial velocity?  Calculus was a LONG time in my past.
