H. H. Ninninger spent his whole career chasing meteorites that landed "just 
over in the next field to the west." Sometimes he would have to travel 400 
miles in that direction until someone would report "Just over in the next 
field to the east."  Thats how he narrowed his searches. During his time he 
discovered 2/3 of all the meteorites in the United States.
His book "Catch a Falling Star" tells a wonderful tale of his adventures.
