Re: (meteorobs) telescopic meteor?



Dave,

Quick back of the envelope calculations show that the angular speed of this
"object" is about right for something in low earth orbit at a reasonable
zenith angle. However the same calculations show that the object would have
to be over 100 meters across for his minimum estimate of angular size and
could approach 300 meters depending on the geometry of the situation. There
are not too many things that size up there. I favor the bird theory having
seen many unusual "objects"  that ended up being birds in the end.
