After I read the excerpt from the CCnet message I searched a little bit:
This article I took from 'Der Standard'(wwwdot derstandard.at) which is a well
done newspaper here in Austria.
For those who can't underatand german I took a translation program which you
can find in www.alteavista.com. The translation won't be well, but I hope
you can understand the meaning.

Mysteriöser Eisbrocken durchschlug Hausdach

Der Klumpen stammt eher nicht aus einem Flugzeug. Trotzdem wurden die
Radardaten von den Flugbewegungen vorsorglich "gesperrt".
Linz - Nach wie vor nicht geklärt war bis Mittwoch Mittag die Herkunft jenes
mysteriösen Eisbrockens, der in den frühen Morgenstunden des Montag durch
das Dach in ein Einfamilienhaus in Königswiesen "eingeschlagen" hatte. Die
Vermutungen, die "Eisbombe" könnte von einem Flugzeug stammen, wurden von
den Experten der für die Luftfahrt zuständigen Austro Control als eher nicht
wahrscheinlich bezeichnet. Trotzdem wurden die Radardaten von den
Flugbewegungen über dem Mühlviertel zur fraglichen Zeit vorsorglich
"gesperrt".
Die Teile des Eisbrockens lagen am Mittwoch einerseits noch im Kühlschrank
des betroffenen Hausbesitzers - er will sie als Beweisstücke für die
Haushaltsversicherung verwenden - und andererseits, ebenfalls gekühlt, bei
der Gendarmerie. Die Experten der Kriminaltechnischen Zentralstelle in Wien
sollen die Eisstücke demnächst zur Untersuchung übernehmen.
Hoffen, dass die Versicherung zahlt
Der Hausbesitzer Christian Weichselbaumer kann sich jedenfalls nicht
erklären, wie es zu dem Zwischenfall kam. Der Eisbrocken durchschlug die
Dachkonstruktion und landete im Bereich des Dachstuhls. "Ich hab das Dach
reparieren lassen müssen, der Schaden beträgt schon einige tausend
Schilling", so Weichselbaumer. Er hofft, dass die Haushaltsversicherung
zahlt.
In der Bevölkerung wird vermutet, dass der Eisbrocken von einem Flugzeug
"fiel". Der Raum Freistadt liegt auf einer stark frequentierten Flugroute.
Die Sicherheitsbehörden haben die Ermittlungen auf genommen. Basis sind die
Daten, ob und welche Flugzeuge am Montag in den frühen Morgenstunden über
Königswiesen unterwegs waren. Wie in solchen Fällen üblich, hat die Austro
Control alle diese Daten "gesperrt", sie sind nur den Sicherheitsbehörden
zugänglich.

Allerdings halten die Techniker der Austro Control es nicht für
wahrscheinlich, dass ein Flugzeug der "Verursacher" der "Eisbombe" gewesen
ist. "Wenn es sich um vereiste Rückstände aus einer Flugzeugtoilette
gehandelt haben würde, so müsste es in der WC-Anlage dieses Flugzeuges
zufällig und von einander unabhängig zwei undichte Stellen gleichzeitig
gegeben haben, das ist sehr unwahrscheinlich". Grundsätzlich werden
Flugzeugtoiletten in keiner Weise "in der Luft" entleert.
Meteorologen meinten am Mittwoch, der Klumpen könnten durch eine Vereisung
bei einem Flugzeug - etwa an den Tragflächen - entstanden sein. Die
Wetterlage hätte dies am Montag Früh in 8.000 oder 9.000 Metern durchaus
zugelassen. Aber auch diese Erklärung hält man bei der Austro Control nicht
für wahrscheinlich, solche Vereisungen seien aus aerodynamischen Gründen
während des Fluges nicht zu erwarten.
Mehr Klarheit in der mysteriösen Angelegenheit wird es vermutlich erst
geben, wenn Biologen und Chemiker der Kriminaltechnischen Zentralstelle in
Wien das eisige "corpus delicti" genau unter die Lupe genommen haben. (APA)
