(meteorobs) May 21/22 observation
Hi All!
I observed from my backyard for an hour in the evening of May 21.
As expected LMs were not very good, ranging from +6.0 at the beginning of
the session to +5.3 at the end with the Moon above horizon.
Only five meteors appeared during that time, best being the last one, a 50
degrees long +2.5 SAG that shot from CrB to Dra. I have had some trouble
shower associating this one as it started 50 degs from the SAG radiant.
However, it passed other criteria (angular velocity and radiant
intersection) and after looking at Fig 11 at IMO website
<http://www.imodot net/visual/length.gif> it seemed probable that a meteor
from a radiant at 20 degs alt. beginning at 70 degs alt. would have a
<path length>/<distance from the radiant to the start point> ratio of
about 1.
Clear skies,
Javor
