(meteorobs) Meteor Activity Outlook for Oct. 13-19, 2000

I realize that this is a bit premature but I will be out of town next
week so better early than late!

The moon is full on Friday October 13 and in the sky during the entire
night. Since only the brightest meteors can be seen under these
conditions I would advise observers to wait until late in this period to
attempt any observing. Even then only early evening observing is free of
moonlight, a time of normally slow activity. The positions listed below
are exact for Saturday night/Sunday morning October 14/15. The positions
do not change greatly day to day so these positions may be used during
this entire period. Details on individual meteor showers will continue
next week when the moon reaches last quarter and becomes much less of a
hindrance.
