(meteorobs) Leonid meteors above 130 km MAPS paper.

I would like to draw your attention to a very interesting paper just
published in MAPS, (Meteoritics & Planetary Science, Vol 35 Number 5, 2000
September), pages 1109-1115.
"New type of radiation of bright Leonid meteors above 130 km". by Spurny,
Betlem. Jobse. Koten and Levens. This paper reports on the extreme high
beginning parts of seven Leonid meteors recorded with very sensitive LLLTV
image intensified system. This radiation appears not to be a result of the
ablation process but a result of a not yet understood process. If your not
a member of the Meteoritical Society, you might find this Journal in a good
scientific library.
To my friends on this list, I have been inactive for a bit, as I'm
recovering from a bout of pneumonia with assocated problems. Hope to be
back to normal soon.
