(meteorobs) Re:Spielberg (was JAWS Meteor)

One of Steven Spielberg's lesser known trademarks is the inclusion of at least one meteor in each of his movies. They make "cameo" appearances (in a night scene of course), in the back ground --much as Hitchcock inserted himself somewhere in the crowd in the movies he directed. Movie trivia buffs can probably recite page and verse of which scene they are
found.
The meteors are marginally realistic. They are there for visual effect and that necessitates a longer, more dramatic, visual than your average real meteor. Like everything else in Hollywood, their portrayal is embellished to make it clear to the audience's expectations.
