(meteorobs) Report of Meteor Leonids from Br

Report of Observation Leonids from Brazil

Rain: Leonids

Date: dawn of 16 for 17 of november/2000

Schedule of the observation: Beginning: 2:50 local time (schedule of
summer) - U.T.: 04:50 hs.
                                       The End: 5:50 local time (schedule of
summer) - U.T.: 07:50 hs.
Total duration of the observation: 3 hours

Local of the observation: Lat. 21º27'54 ''S - Long. 47º00'21 ''W - City of
Mococa - SP - Brazil

Quality of the sky and atmosphere:  little gleam, some clouds esparsas,
clear sky (Moon in room in the Constellation of Geminis made the very clear
sky); winds to 13.5 km/h of West for East; 17th of temperature.

Visible Cosntelaçãoes during the observaçaõ period: Aur, Per, Tau, Ori, CMa,
CMi, Lep, Col, Eri, Gem, Lynx, Can, Cyg, Veils, Stern, Car, Crux, Hidra,
Cent, Pain, Ret´ etc. and Leo arose in the horizon east at the end of the
observation when the sky was already clearing up. Jupiter and Saturn in Tau.

BEGINNING - 2:50 local time (schedule of summer) - U.T.: 04:50 hs

03:42 U.T. 2 micrometeors followed vindos of the Constellation of Can in
direction to West (Geminis) - I shine of 0.3 mag., fast and long, white
color, with about 20th of trace in the sky.

04:23 U.T. 1 coming meteor of Pup (loud of the sky) in direction to the AND
(Can) -
 I shine of 0.2 mag, white, fast color and small trace 5th of sky.

04:23:15 U.T. - 1 coming meteor of Pup (loud of the sky) in direction to the
AND (Can) -
 I shine of 1.0 mag, fast, white color and small trace 5th of sky.

04:33 U.T. 1 coming meteor of NW in direction ESE, shine of -1.0 mag, white,
fast color and small trace.

05:32 U.T. 1 coming meteor of Candle in direction IF, I shine -2.0 mag,
white, fast color and short trace.

END: 5:50 local time (schedule of summer) - U.T.: 07:50 hs.

Number of observed Meteors: 06
Total time of observation: 3 hs
Average: 1 meteor to every 00:30 minutes

I hope to have more luck in the dawn of 17 para18, that if the atmospheric
time helps!
