Actually, that's exactly what Shelby Ennis and I have noticed about
sporadic radio meteors on days leading up to showers: the number of radio
meteor reflections seems to begin dropping up to several weeks before, and
seems to drop way down (sometimes to almost NOTHING) on the several days
before a shower begins. Shel has been observing radio meteors since the
1950s while I've sporadically observed em since the early 1970s. We both
came up with that same observation independently of each other and neither
of us were surprised when we encountered and shared this apparent-effect
during our 3-year-long series of almost-daily radio meteor schedules.
