Thanks for the note on Telstar 401, Ed... Hard to believe they are stilling
using that 'Telstar' name after all these years! :) And BTW, during future
major shower peaks, feel free to post the positions of other well-known geo-
sync satellites on our list. They ARE helpful to know about!

BTW, I have been observing a magnitude 2 or 3 "flasher" in that spot for a
couple of years now... I believe I first noted it watching the Leonids from
Long Key, Florida (outside the town of Layton, latitude 24oN), in 1998. It
was an annoying presence at first, for sure. After a while, though, I began
to look on it as a comforting, steady "meteor watching presence". :)
