It would be interesting to find out why contacts are better at focusing star
images...I would think the glasses would do the same if made correctly. I
wear glasses (have never tried contacts) and do put up with the fogging in
winter. But I would think there are serious drawbacks to contacts as well.
Friends of mine who wear contacts have told me that sometimes the contact
irritates their eye due to dirt or something getting "behind" the contact.
They also stated that the contact severely irritates their eye when they are
overly tired. Both of these seem probable while observing.
