(meteorobs) First Geminids report.
This evening, I went out to see what activity the Geminids might be
beginning to show. I was planning to do an hour Teff just before
hitting the sack, but deteriorating weather cut short my session to
20 mins. Conditions were pretty rough. I observed from the roof of
my apartment building in town. With all the light pollution and full
moon, LM couldn't quite make it to 5.0 and there were lots of low
tradewind clouds making for a high F factor, too.
Nevertheless, I saw 4 GEM in 20 min. This adjusts to a ZHR = 111
+/- 55.
Looks like the GEM are off to a good start!
Clear skies to all, and to all a Good night...
Mike.
