(meteorobs) First Geminids report.



This evening, I went out to see what activity the Geminids might be 
beginning to show. I was planning to do an hour Teff just before 
hitting the sack, but deteriorating weather cut short my session to 
20 mins. Conditions were pretty rough. I observed from the roof of 
my apartment building in town. With all the light pollution and full 
moon, LM couldn't quite make it to 5.0 and there were lots of low 
tradewind clouds making for a high F factor, too.

Nevertheless, I saw 4 GEM in 20 min. This adjusts to a ZHR = 111 
+/- 55.

Looks like the GEM are off to a good start!

Note: Cloud cover steadily increased forcing termination of session.
      Mag -1 SPO was a very long path (>90°) slow, "wobbly" 
meteor.
