Ok. It seems that I can't type and add. I'll try again. It's 14 and not 17 Qua's in the first 30' and with 4 Spo's that adds up to 18 total! And I also messed up with the magnitude distribution. I guess I was still sleeping when I wrote down the numbers. Sorry about that! Hi all,My morning of observations turned into a nice disaster. Instead of just watching, I decided for the first time ever to gather some data. And now, while I was listening to the tape to write the report, I recorded over a bit of tape (3 or 4 meteors) by accident!!!!Anyway, I started at 4:30 UT, a few miles north of Dundee. It was a nice clear sky but it was also freezing a few degrees and when I stepped out of the car I noticed that the road was quite icy. I observed in the direction between Ursa Minor and Cepheus (least light pollution) with an LM of 5.7. In the first half hour, I observed at least 14 Quadrantids and at least 4 sporadics (this is where the tape disaster was). At least two SPO's could have been Coma Berenecids, including a nice +1. From 5:00 till 5:30, I saw considerable less meteors:10 Quadrantids and 4 sporadics. That was when the breeze, that had been slowly freezing me already, started to become stronger, so I decided to head back home. Although this was my first attempt and I erased 3 or 4 meteors, so it's all of little use, I'll give my report anyway.Jan 3, 2001 4:30-5:30 UT Field: between Ursa Minor and Cepheus
