Thanks for the input Hartwig! We have rolls and rolls of cash register tape
at work, so will give one of them a try during my next session.

This method works beautifully, even at high rates. I always have
a roll of paper with me as a backup. In fact during the 1999 Leonids
my tape recorder failed just at the peak of the storm,  and I switched
to the roll method during the observation.
