(meteorobs) Quick Quads in New Jersey
Greetings all,
Last night was clear and cold as promised, so I finally bagged my first
QUA's ever. Temperature was a bone chilling 13F (-10C) with a light but
persistent wind, which I was only partially successful in blocking. LM was
compromised by the heavy snow pack in the area, leaving some sky areas
brighter than normal; also some haze was present, probably due to the cold
temperatures. A few very thin cirrus clouds wandered by, but had no
significant effect on the observations. The first two hours had good
sporadic rates, with a few QUA's, the last 3 half hour periods had about 10
QUA's each. FOV was 135 azimuth @ 65 degrees elevation throughout (believe
me, I wasn't getting out of my cocoon of warmth!!)
