Below is an email I recently received regarding the possibility of using a
PalmOS to record meteor date while observing. Since I am unfamiliar with
this equipment, I recommended to Jon that he subscribe to this list and
solicit input from the subscribers here. He hasn't subscribed yet, but
should in the next day or so. If anyone has any input or experience with a
PalmOS, please share your thoughts/experiences.

Hi Mark. I got this address off the IMO website: my appologies if this
isn't an appropriate address to use for this.
I've been thinking about using a PalmOS "connected organizer" to record
my meteor observations. Some web searches haven't turned up anything,
and a friend had mixed results trying to use a forms package (too much
time writing and not enough time observing). Do you know of any meteor
observing software? Is there a meteor mailing list i could bring the
topic up on?
I've coded my thoughts into a partially working mock-up running as a
Java applet:

My eventual goal is a free-ware application which will allow recording a
meteor observing session without significant writing or looking at the
screen except to record sky conditions, but of course i don't want to
reinvent the proverbial wheel. Any feedback on the idea or it's
implementation would be very welcome, and please feel free to pass
either the URL or this message on to anyone you feel would be
interested.
