Re: (meteorobs) Claim to witness 21 Sept 1927 meteorite fall in Madison NJ USA?

Dear Joe Dupont, hi others,

Indeed, this sounds like a lightning strike to me, BUT I warn that newspaper
reports are notorious for often being not very factual. As suggested by Stuart
Saunders, an investigation at the scene and interviewing possible remaining
eyewitnesses could clearify things. Yet, especially after a long lapse of time,
lay-person eyewitness accounts in my experience from a decade of checking Dutch
alleged meteorite reports, aren't that reliable either.
