(meteorobs) small outburst?

Title: small outburst?

A fellow planetarian recieved a phone call this morning from a man stating he had seen a high number a meteors over a half-hour last night.  Here's his message:

I've already told Mickey about the current goings on in the sky (thanks Robert!) and suggested that maybe it was a statistical hiccup.  However, for this I would think the observed meteors would have to be quite dim, and the observer reported seeing color.  If this incident turns out to be true, what do you guys think it was?  Hiccup or Outburst?
