Re: (meteorobs) memorable meteors

My most memorable meteor (which I didn't see) was a (probable) Perseid
in 1993. While (rightly) anticipating peak time being clouded, I was
looking for any clear night a week prior to the peak time. On 8/9 of
August, while laying on the roof and looking at eastern sky, a bolide
exploded in western sky with faint, but clearly audible (electrophonic)
popping/bursting sound.

And though I've forgot most of my sensations at the time, one thing
has remained: as I had heard the sound and had turned quickly,
automatically and subconsciously to see what was it, I looked at the
exact right spot in the sky, and as my train of thoughts caught up
with my reaction, I was excited and thrilled since I knew and felt
(and still believe) that because of the sound I was somehow able to
triangulate the right and exact azimuth and elevation of this bolide.

Also, it was beginner's luck to manage to get it on the film (my
very first try to picture a meteor - caught it on the first frame of
my third roll, as I had bought the camera a few weeks earlier).
