Re: (meteorobs) Many radio meteors - anyone else hearing them?

Hello Michael Boschat:  I'm interested in what type receiver you are using
for radio meteor detection?  Here in Houston, Texas I am using a PCR1000 ham
radio receiver that has a range from 100KHz to 1300 MHz.  I am using the CW
mode and am tuned to 77.24 MHz, the TV video (-) to the east of my location.
I usually listen early in the morning and late in the afternoon.  I haven't
been keeping track of the count but the past few mornings sounded typical.  I
not only listen but look at the audio using an oscilloscope.  Typical peak to
peak noise runs  around 0.5 volts.  At the time of a ping or bong the noise
becomes a periodic wave momentarily.  Recently I have been counting these
O-scope waves if they are  1.0 volt peak to peak or more and the typical
count is about one a minute.
